In-Studio Clay Lessons

In-Studio Lessons

Instructor: Cristine Boyd

We offer once-a-week hand-building lessons during Open Studio!

During our Open Studio Hours on Saturdays, our instructor is available at 1pm-2:30pm and 2:30pm-4pm to provide guided advice related to your project and learning goals. These 1.5 hour timeslots are $40 each and do not include your clay. Clay can be purchased from the arts center or from your instructor, who is also a clay-distributor, if they desire a special-order clay type/color. You are also welcome to bring your own clay, but it must be able to be safely fired to Cone 6.

Christmas Elf Sculpting

Sculpt your very own holiday Christmas Elf using polymer clay! Polymer clay is a material with endless possibilities. In these classes, students will learn polymer clay skills and techniques related to figurative sculpting from local artist, Dr. Debra McCormack. Whether you are new to trying polymer clay or have tried it before, there is plenty to learn and plenty of fun to be had in this class series!

Meet Your Instructors:

Dr. Debra McCormack is a polymer clay figurative artist and has won multiple awards for her work. Her goal is to share projects and tips and tricks, according to interest and talent levels, within her class. Her goal is for each student to complete many figurative projects and a fully finished and unique gnome at the conclusion of this class.
