Chief Financial Officer

Job Description: Nonprofit Chief Financial Officer

Reports to: CEO

Type: Full-time

Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: $70-$90k + Benefits Package

Position Summary: The Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center (SDC) is looking for a CFO to join our nonprofit organization to manage all financial aspects, including investments, internal financial controls, safety compliance related to SDC facility, and audit activities with all divisions including IT, Guest Services, Gift Shop, and Operations. The CFO will work in concert with the CEO ensuring ADP HR policies and compliance training.

Key Performance Indicators tracking and analyzing industry trends are key components of this senior leadership position. The resulting work of the CFO will provide forecasting and return on investment (ROI) functions for current and future programs that will through the CEO aid the SDC Board of Trustees in their role of overseeing and working with the Executive, Finance, and Endowment Committees.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who can plan and direct these functions. They will act as a trusted thought partner to the CEO on a day-to-day basis and along with other organizational leaders. The CFO will create the annual budget with the CEO. Responsibilities include cash flow planning, preparing, and reviewing departmental budgets and tracking operational metrics. An in-depth knowledge of risk management methodology as well as the ability to forecast is essential to this position and the capital projects that will be overseen. This position manages SDC resources to be most beneficial to the SDC in order to help maximize our funding.

and is responsible for monitoring and monthly reporting on operating capital project results throughout the year to ensure the financial health of the Arts Center. They will analyze long-range financial trends to project impact on future growth related to sales, compensation, and grants. The CFO also reviews and approves all contracts including all third-party vendor relationships and requests for proposals to ensure favorable terms, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with internal and external policies. It is imperative that the CFO be able to focus on fiscal restraint while also supporting a level of risk tolerance in pursuit of the goals that the Arts Center has set.

Art Instructors

The Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center is excited to announce the return of art classes! With the great diversity and quality of local talent, the Arts Center welcomes anyone interested in teaching one or more arts classes with us. We are actively looking for painting and drawing instructors and welcome a variety of other mediums!

We are also actively seeking instructors to teach watercolor and/or painting courses for our youth programming for Friday Arts Academy! If you are interested in teach one of these mediums, or any other medium, please reach out to us!

ART INSTRUCTORS WANTED

 

Peer Mentor Program

We are launching a new volunteer program geared toward High School students! This program will offer opportunities for participants to earn volunteer hours, to learn valuable skills and experience while assisting instructors in our youth art classes, and to be able to attend educational opportunities such as panel talks and seminars about careers in the arts, and students’ other learning goals and interests. This program will also aim to develop a youth arts community where students can develop leadership skills, have meaningful discussions with each other, learn from one another, and have regular socializing opportunities. Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center! We have a great variety of opportunities throughout the year. To volunteer with us, please complete and return a Volunteer Application to us. Applications can be submitted to cayla@sdc-arts.org.

Note that all volunteers, instructors, and staff are subject to completing a successful background check. After completing your application, please also complete the attached Background Check Authorization Form and provide a color copy of your valid driver's license to us. You are welcome to provide those to us via email to cayla@sdc-arts.org or you can bring them to us in-person at the Museum's Welcome Center.

Friday Arts Academy Scholarship   

Friday Arts Academy is our child and youth arts program which serves students from Kindergarten through 12th Grade. We welcome all students and seek to provide access for everyone. We offer scholarships to as many students as possible each semester.

The Arts Center Associates

The purpose of this organization will be to create a community-wide interest in the local area to support the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center by promoting educational activities, events, and services related to the fine arts and humanities. The Arts Center Associates meet the 3rd Tuesday of the Month, September through May.

Policies:

The policies and activities of this organization may in no instance conflict with the stated purpose of its parent organization, the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center, and shall be ultimately responsible to the Arts Center Executive Board.

Membership and Dues:

Membership: The membership shall consist of those persons who are members in good standing of the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center, and who are willing to devote a portion of their time in the furtherance of the purposes of this organization.

Dues: The annual dues of this Organization shall be twenty (20) dollars per year made payable to the Treasurer of this Organization. Dues shall be paid in January and annually thereafter.

Any member in good standing shall have the right to vote, participated in meetings, and to hold office in this Organization.
