Only $15.94 per lesson! Materials included in class cost. This class is recommended for ages 12 years and up.

This 16-session class is structured much-like those you would take in a classroom setting, allowing students to pursue the full range of techniques offered in the class, or to focus on a single technique being taught. Students in this class will have the option to explore techniques such as hand building, wheel throwing, and Raku. Students will have the opportunity to create pots, vases, lidded jars, bowls, cups, and casseroles.

Week 1: Hand Built Pots - February 7 & 9, 2023


Week 2: Wheel Throwing/Hand Building/Bisking - February 14 & 16, 2023


Week 3: Glazing Pots - February 21 & 23, 2023


Week 4: Take Home Projects/Raku Interest & Process - Feb. 28 & Mar. 2, 2023


Week 5: Raku Start/Bowls, Casseroles, Cups - March 7 & 9, 2023


Week 6:  Vases - March 14 & 16, 2023


Week 7: Covered Jars - March 21 & 23, 2023


Week 8:  Glazing - March 28 & 30, 2023

Parents/guardians are required to sign-in and sign-out students. Students will only be released to adults indicated in their registration. For unforeseen/last minute pick-up changes, please call 719-295-7200. Drop off and pick up are located at the Kid Rock Café (the east entrance of the Buell Children’s Museum – first level).

Students may be dropped off no more than 15 minutes before class and no later than 15 minutes after their last class. If a student has classes both before and after the noon hour, the student may eat a packed lunch from home on campus. No food will be provided by the Arts Center. A staff member will chaperone the lunch hour from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
