Community Days at the Arts Center

Pay As You Can Sundays

The Sangre de Cristo Arts Center and Buell Children’s Museum offer an unforgettable experience for those who visit.  In order to ensure that every child and family can visit, we offer Pay As You Can basic admission* four times a year.  Basic admission fees are waived all day!* Visitors on this day are asked to please consider making a donation of admission - at any level - when visiting the Museum.

Community Days in 2019 are Sunday, February 10, Sunday, June 16, Sunday, August 11, and Sunday, December 15 from 12 - 4 pm.

I have 3 kids. 7 years old to 3 years old and they all had a blast when we visited yesterday. 2 hours later they still didn't want to leave. The Family Free Day was a great opportunity for us to see what the Arts Center has to offer too. There were tons of volunteers on-hand and I loved that they were very aware of what the kids were doing. They also have a nice little Mother's Room on the second floor for breastfeeding moms!  - Erin F.

We thank our generous sponsors:

Sunday, February 10 from 12-4pm | "Pay As You Can" admission is made possible by The Pueblo Chieftain.

Sunday, June 16 from 12-4pm | "Pay As You Can" admission is made possible by the Southern Colorado Community Foundation and David Jackson in honor of Bob Jackson.

Sunday, August 11 from 12-4pm | First Responder Day!
Learn about, meet, and share your appreciation of First Responders on this special Community Free Day at the Arts Center.  Help a firewoman hold the hose as gallons of water gush from a firetruck!  Ask a policeman how to turn on their siren when you get to look inside a police car. Made possible by the W. Bret Kelly Trust.

Sunday, December 15 from 12-4pm | Pay-As-You-Can admission made possible by Pueblo Rotary Club 43.

First Friday Artwalks

Everywhere you go in Pueblo you’ll see wonderful art exhibits and installations. The Arts Center participates in Pueblo’s certified Creative Corridor which participates in First Friday Art Walks on the first Friday in Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Feb, Mar, Apr, and May. The Sangre de Cristo Arts Center offers free access to the seven fine art galleries inside the Helen T. White Building from 5 to 7 pm. During these nights, visitors are invited on a self-guided tour of the art galleries, restaurants, and businesses located within the Creative Corridor in Downtown Pueblo. Events on these nights celebrate the culture that makes Pueblo so special - and one of only 12 certified creative districts in Colorado.

Free days during First Friday Art Walks in 2019 are February 1, March 1, April 5, May 3, September 6, October 4, November 1, and December 6. The Sangre de Cristo Arts Center takes a three-month summer break from First Friday Art Walks in order to host its anniversary gala and Festival Fridays.
