Elementary Yoga

Instructor: Tatianna Johnston

Class Time: 10:15 AM - 11:00 AM

Cost (12 sessions): $108 (Member: $96)*

Cost (Per Week): $9 (Member: $8)*

This class will teach young students breathing exercises and many different poses in a fun way to help them with their physical and mental health. Students must bring their own yoga mat.

*All materials included in course cost. 

Note: This is a combined session course; if seats are full in this session’s registration, you may enroll in the session for ages 3rd Grade-5th Grade (these are the same class).

Creative Movement

Instructor: Kayla Gray

Class Time: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Creative Movement combines the mastery of movement with the artistry of expression. Students learn basic forms of movement through creative games, songs, music, and rhythmic patterns as well as concepts of body and spatial awareness. Students also learn class etiquette that will serve them throughout their education. Learning outcomes for this course include that students will experience an increase in the development of imagination, using the elements of dance, through guided exploration, while also increasing each student’s movement vocabulary.

Theater Games

Instructor: Jerica Khosla

Class Time: 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Cost (12 sessions): FREE*

Cost (Per Week): FREE*

Students will stretch their imagination in this thirty-minute session by partaking in improv activities and games. Bring on the drama!

Note: This class is intended for students taking our Creative Movement class from 2:30pm-3:30pm who will also be taking a 4:00pm class with us. This class serves as an activity between paid-course blocks. There will be 10 seats available for students NOT enrolled in Creative Movement. Please contact Director of Education and Programs, Ashton Langrick, at 719-295-7200 ext. 7214 or ashton@sdc-arts.org to manually enroll in one of those 10 available seats.

REGISTER

Parents/guardians are required to sign-in and sign-out students. Students will only be released to adults indicated in their registration. For unforeseen/last minute pick-up changes, please call 719-295-7200. Drop off and pick up are located at the Kid Rock Café (the east entrance of the Buell Children’s Museum – first level).

Students may be dropped off no more than 15 minutes before class and no later than 15 minutes after their last class. If a student has classes both before and after the noon hour, the student may eat a packed lunch from home on campus. No food will be provided by the Arts Center. A staff member will chaperone the lunch hour from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
