Q & A with The McCarthy Family  (Arts Center Members since 2014)

We’ve asked the McCarthy family (M. Phyllis with granddaughters Kaidyn and Brooklyn) a few questions during their visit on Puebloween, here’s what they had to say...

Q: Where’s the first place you go when you visit the Arts Center?

I go to the Buell Children’s Museum with the grandkids.

Q: How and where do you find inspiration?

We are inspired by the Children’s Museum’s exhibit changeups. And my granddaughter Brooklyn does Missoula Children’s Theatre.

Q: Do you have a favorite artist?

There’s just too many to choose from! I like John and Dorothy Mendoza, locally. My nephew is also a great artist for Disney, his name is Philip David Vigil.

Q: What advice do you have for the next generation?

Phyllis says, “Take today and make it special. Also, ‘The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all.’ That’s a Disney quote which I really liked.”

Q: Just for fun – What song do you always sing along with?

With the kids we sing all kinds of music, we sing Katy Perry songs.

Q & A with The Archuleta Family  (Arts Center Members since 2005)

We’ve asked the Archuleta family (Travis, Carrie, Jonah, Bennett, Adrienne, and Cameron) a few questions, here’s what they had to say...

Q: Where’s the first place you go when you visit the Arts Center?

The School of Dance - we practically live there! During Nutcracker season we are here at least thirty hours a week.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the Arts Center?

There’s something for every person in our family. Bennett took pottery classes, Cameron does Friday Arts Academy and Missoula Children’s Theatre, and Adrienne is a dancer.

Q: Do you have a favorite artist?

Carrie: I try not to limit myself to one art form. We are a big music family and we appreciate visual arts, dance, and keep open minds. Different art forms speak to me at different times depending on what’s going on around me.

Q: What are 3 key items you feel every person should have?

A good support system, a passion, and an open mind.

Q: Just for fun – What song do you always sing along with?

We always sing along to two songs when we get into the car. They are “Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri - which you have to sing LOUD to - and "Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen.

Q & A with The Roberts Family  (Arts Center Members since 2015)

The Roberts family (Brad, Kjirstin, Brynn, Charly, and Theron) recently moved back to Pueblo from Albuquerque, NM. Here’s what they had to say......

Q: What do you enjoy most about the Arts Center?

The Buell Children’s Museum! We also enjoy the Children’s Playhouse Theatre performances, the summer musical, and we attended the Nutcracker.

Q: Do you have a favorite artist?

Brad enjoys art in general. The family likes nature, in the style of National Geographic. We take our own landscape photos and have them enlarged to hang in our home.

Q: What are 5 key items every person should have?

Food, water, shelter, family, and fun.

Q: What dreams and goals inspire you?

We want to climb every Fourteener, and we want our kids to do well.

Q: Just for fun – What song do you always sing along with?

The kids like to sing along to “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen.
