About the exhibition:
Featuring cutting-edge contemporary works by regional artists working in the traditions of Japanese style. The three featured artists in this exhibition are Riki Takaoka of Pueblo, Renee Reiko Campbell of Colorado Springs, and Margaret Kasahara of Colorado Springs.
Saturday, April 1, 2017 | 1-4 pm: Opening Reception - free admission to the public, live caricature drawings by artist Riki Takaoka, and featured collectors on hand to speak with guests.
Friday, April 7, 2017 | 5-7 pm: First Friday Art Walk - featuring complimentary refreshments, live caricature drawings by artist Riki Takaoka, and Kayoko Morton on the Japanese Koto sponsored by Black Hills Foundation.
Monday, April 24 | 2 - 4 pm: Taking Flight: International Sculpture Day celebrate ISDAY with free kite-making activities on the Arts Center campus.
Friday, May 5, 2017 | 5-7 pm: First Friday Art Walk - see the show for free, hear featured speaker Henry Wyeno, and enjoy complimentary refreshments including Japanese beer and whiskey samples during Downtown Pueblo's First Friday Art Walk sponsored by Paula & Jeff Chostner.
Friday, May 5, 2017 | 11 am - 4 pm: Children’s Day at the Buell Children’s Museum - celebrating a Japanese holiday which takes place annually on the fifth day of the fifth month as part of Golden Week. This event is included in the price of admission.
