White Gallery | November 14, 2020 - January 18, 2021

About the exhibition:

Coming to the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center November 14, 2020 through January 18, 2021, experience Rough Ruby Arts Collective's environmentally-inspired installations in the exhibit Exo-Sanctuaries. These installations are created by individual members and function in concert to create immersive visceral interactions with dramatically atmospheric renditions of natural forces an human mind-sets. As the viewer moves in and out of the work spending time with the installations, great and small, they themselves become a part of the artwork. The media used is quite varied from low-tech to hi-tech, and the “Soundscape” is poetry of Rough Ruby Resident Poet Hanna Roger.

The Rough Ruby Arts Collective is composed of women artists based in the American West. The collective is committed to the power of art as a means to express the individual and the social while forming community conversation. Other artists include Laura Ben Amots, Steffany Suze Boucher, Hellen Dunn, Ceil Horowitz and Cathleen Meadows.
