Presto! Fun with Magic

In this beginner’s class students will learn about magic, the history of magic and the Magician’s Pledge, how to put together you basic bag of magic tricks, use of The Magic Wand, slight of hand & misdirection, silk magic, magic with food, money magic, rope magic, card magic, creating your own character and showmanship, and how to perfect your routine. This course also allows students to perform at the end of the semester.

Balloon Shaping

Students will explore a new talent of creating balloon art. In this class they will learn balloon basics, the history of balloon shaping, safety, how to create simple and complex balloon animals, how to create non-animal shapes, balloon magic, and comedy with balloons. Students in this class will also have the opportunity to perform at the end of the semester.
Note: This is a combined session course; if seats are full in this session’s registration, you may enroll in the session for ages 6th Grade-8th Grade (these are the same class).

Elementary Yoga

This class will teach young students breathing exercises and many different poses in a fun way to help them with their physical and mental health. Students must bring their own yoga mat.

Intro to Theatre

Calling all actors! In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of acting while being introduced to none other than the Bard of the Ball himself, William Shakespeare. The class will culminate in a performance of an adapted Shakespeare play.

Parents/guardians are required to sign-in and sign-out students. Students will only be released to adults indicated in their registration. For unforeseen/last minute pick-up changes, please call 719-295-7200. Drop off and pick up are located at the Kid Rock Café (the east entrance of the Buell Children’s Museum – first level).
Students may be dropped off no more than 15 minutes before class and no later than 15 minutes after their last class. If a student has classes both before and after the noon hour, the student may eat a packed lunch from home on campus. No food will be provided by the Arts Center. A staff member will chaperone the lunch hour from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
