Creativity, Children & Integrating the Museumin Your Classroom
Summer Workshop for Teacherswith CSU-PuebloGraduate Credit
Thursday, June 19 and Friday, June 20 | 9 amto5 pm
Join us at the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center for this new ultimate teacher class.
Infuse your classroom with creativity with this 2-day course designed for K-12 teachers of all disciplines. Principles of Daniel Pink’s book A Whole New Mind kick off this practical, no-busy-work class. The workshop features great hands-on learning opportunities, including:
• National Crayola Workshop complete with Crayola DreamMakers’ Creativity Guide and Crayola
products to use in your classroom
• In-depth guided tours of the Buell Childrens’ Museum and Arts Center Galleries’ Hollywood-
themed exhibitions, complete with hands-on, multi-disciplinary arts
lessons for all ages
• Available graduate credit by writing lesson plans for fostering
creativity in your classroom incorporating both the Arts Center
and Arts Integration and Standards
Instructors for the workshop include: Donna Stinchcomb, Buell
Children’s Museum Curator; Gary Holder, Curator of
Education; and Nicole Pirraglia, Assistant Curator of
Education and Tour Coordinator.
Graduate Credit:
The workshop may be taken for 1 or 2 CSU-Pueblo graduate
credits or for recertification credit only.
1 CSU-Pueblo Graduate Credit = $150
2 CSU-Pueblo Graduate Credits = $200
Workshop without credit = $50

Brain Gym101

June 11 to13 or July 9 to11, 9 amto5 pm
Experience whole-brain integration through whole-body movement. In this workshop, you will learn 26 Brain Gym® Exercises, the Edu-K Balance processes, and Dennison Literality Repatterning. This class is great for students, teachers, artists, athletes, health care practitioners, and business professionals. Bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. CSU-Pueblo graduate credit is available for an additional $45 (must be present all three days for credit).

Double Doodle Play: A WindowtoWhole-Brain Vision

In this introductory course, we will use the Double Doodle and other movements from Brain Gym® and Vision Gym® to explore and enhance visual perception and artistic expression. You will gain:
• A greater understanding of hand-eye coordination
• A visual experience that will activate a greater awareness of color, shape and lines through coordinated
bilateral movements
• Joy, ease and serendipity in creative expression
• A new experience of using your eyes in a more relaxed, whole-brain way
• A reclaiming of your ambidexterity as you engage in daily activities
• An understanding of how crossing the visual and kinesthetic midlines affect reading and fine-motor skills
• A few pieces of your own beautifully creative Double Doodles
