WARHOL & FRIENDS: Famous Artists to See Before You Die

Modern and Contemporary art has helped shape and transform American culture and identity. Iconic artists like Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Roy Lichtenstein have not only helped mold the art scene in the United States but have transformed how people view and understand art.

Modern art, referring to artistic works produced between the 1860s through the 1970s, denotes art in which the traditions of the past have been thrown aside in a spirit of experimentation. Modern artists experimented with new ways of seeing, and with fresh ideas about the nature of materials and functions of art.

Contemporary art refers to works produced since World War II. This exhibit brings some of the best and most interesting Modern and Contemporary artist together and to Southern Colorado. This may be your one and only chance to view works by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Jackson Pollock without leaving Pueblo. These internationally known artists are paired with exhibits focussing on prominent Colorado artists like Vance Kirkland and even Orlin Helgoe.
